The Friday before we left chicago to head north, I quickly went to a car x facility, to get the oil changed . I also expressed the sound when braking.

I was over 200 miles from home taking care of a sick grandparent and I had problems with my back break lines. I had an older vehicle so it was hard to find a replacement part. Darwin at Phillips Ford searched until he found my part, and also replaced some of the rusted brake lines.
On our annual fall trip to Phillips WI, we decided to get a second opinion on a repair for our 2011 Ford Escape.
The car had been making an inconsistent sound when braking as if the abs system was missing some resistance when coming to a stop. I had brought the car into a Ford service deptment (north suburb of chicago) in recent months & they said they couldn't find anything wrong with the brakes & since the abs light was not on, it was ok.
I was given a quote on the higher side depending on the hours of labor it would take. I was also told we would have to replace the axel because of the time & labor of getting to the ring. It would just be easier to replace the axel. Plus an alignment & parts. Roughly 800.00 & 1000.00!

Needless to say we were overwhelmed & thought to get a 2nd opinion.
So we met with the team at Phillips Ford , which after taking a look, they said yes we need a new abs ring & they were able to schedule us in asap. We asked for an estimate on hours , labor & parts. $ 300.00 was the quote. No need for an axel to be replaced & about 2 hours of labor. We said are your sure? Yep no more than 3 hrs needed & no need to replace the axel.
We will definitely be purchasing a vehicle from the Phillips Ford dealership because of the personal customer service which was above and beyond the average dealership.
